| evermovingtarget (Burlington, Canada) | Posted: Apr 22, 2013 - 11:19 I remember going to a concert with Apocalyptica, in Norway, back in the '90s. Just four guys with a cello each, and no other instrument involved at all. Fantastic. The sounds they would get out of their cellos was just impressing. Their poor cellos did take a bit of a beating though, but what can you expect when they were playing metal all night. Great fun! All covers, but impressively done. This, though still good, is not quite the same. They've got a drummer now, and a keyboard by the sounds of it. Their initial stuff was more fun! |

It's too blatant, but some great songs are blatant rip-offs of "Sweet Jane," so go figure. Yeah, you guys are so right.. but not only is John Carpenter's - Halloween theme song in there. Every time I listen to this, I hear "Nearer My God to Thee", the song they played on the Titanic just before it sank. It's like a mix of the two..Do you agree? |

Also, too, I'm seeing updates from NZ and Australia on reddit, regarding their continued existence, so it looks like we just might make it... |
| kingart (Brooklyn NY) | Posted: Dec 20, 2012 - 09:05 Beautiful. Cinematic. Tragic. At this point in the film, the star-crossed lovers are probably taking poison or downing way too many sedatives. |

| zitherica (Rijeka, Croatia) | Posted: Feb 22, 2012 - 04:53 quite depressing... and it's a beautiful sunny day here in Croatia. this music doesn't work for me today. |

One day a coupla' years ago, I took her out for a drive and put this in the CD player. Mom could be a bit pensive and I thought that she would like it, but she asked me to take it out and play some of that "pineapple tree" that she had taken a liking to. Hilarious. Yeah, I suppose Porcupine Tree is simply 'gay' compared to this. LOL! May your mother rest in peace.
I imagine two great wars and a tense Cold War left a more than a few pensive people in that part of the world. I find it cathartic to drink in all the misery at once—figuratively speaking of course. Perhaps my odd behaviour is the unanticipated consequence of reading R.D. Laing (1967) The Politics of Experience and the Bird of Paradise. |
