Great cover. And "just say no to drugs" for all of the fans of the candy.

I saw the Lemonheads before they ever played this cover. A local band opened for them - The Moving Van Goghs (from Manhattan KS). The MVGs had a neat arrangement of an old Simon and Garfunkel song that they used to do as an encore. Mrs Robinson, I think.
Evan Dando really liked the way they played it, I hear.

Sounds like the Meat Puppets should have followed. Nice show.

Quite likeable cover.

I saw the lemonheads open for the smithereens. Then was another band followed them that I cannot remember.

Evan was in the crowd at Popular Creek talking people for 10 mins. plus and then he jumped on stage to start the show. Very laid back and cool guy.

I like the music, but the singing lacks feeling. Make it more emotional like the original song or more agressive like the new music, because now it's just bland.

Seeing how the original was around long before I was, I don't think I could remember it.

While I do prefer the original by a great deal, I do enjoy this song. It's one of those tunes that makes me feel like I may have actually had a good time way back in high school...

Attention, Lemonheads: Do you know why Simon and Garfunkel recorded this song? So that you wouldn't have to.

I'm of the same view. While strongly in favor of the playing of originals, I have to be against the "no covers" part of that statement.

Quite true, and this is a darned good effort in that vein (in achieving a new and different sound, that is). But don't certain songs earn their place in time?

Yet another HORRID cover of a FABULOUS song. Nothing and no one can top the original. And, without the harmony, it's even worse.

YUCK!!!!

The only covers that I've found are serviceable are by Lenny Kravitz doing Hendrix.

There seems to be a school of thought which holds that alienated emotional detatchment is the height of artistry. For instance: Cake, Nirvana, Psychedelic Furs, The Cure . . . I could go on, but you get the point.

I happen to think that's a load of fetid dingoes' kidneys myself.
