Personally, I'm all ears. I like and always have enjoyed this band. To all those who ask "where were they?" I say, they were playing the same music as Bringing Down the Horse all along. It just wasn't commercial enough to be played at the turn of the century. Bands like Oasis were given heavy airplay while good ole rock & roll was side-stepped for a moment in time. Yes, you can hear Tom Petty's influence. Who better to pick up the flame BTW. It's well know, his dad and Tom are life-long friends.

My only real comment is wondering where the guitar player went. They went from a 5 piece band to four.

I liked their debut album, but this hasn't impressed me.

I disagree. In their own right, this band does well. I'd love to see them not be so polished, hell, I'd love to see a J. Dylan solo album. Seems like he's hiding behind sunny pop hooks.

HA, i thought for a moment that the chorus was "I'm ready to break up" and i thought, now THAT's an interesting take on the love song genre. but i was wrong. it's just another silly love song.

I thought it sounded like the Jayhawks for a moment, until Jacob started singing.

Not my favorite Wallflowers tune, but it's OK. (aside: kudos to Jacob for his cover of Lawyers, Guns and Money on the WZ tribute)

Well I kind of like it :)
Although I must admit I was waiting for it to, "take off". It seemed like it was building up to something and then never went anywhere. Reminded me of one of those acoustic tricks where the tone seems to be rising forever but isn't really.....

Interesting, AMG rated the follow-up to Bring Down the Horse, an album entitled Breach, higher than its predecessor. I liked Bring Down the Horse, but I didn't realize they had released other material.

Jacob seems to be channeling Don Henley a bit here. As for "the child of comments"...so what? It either grabs you or it don't. To me the Wallflowers are okay, but that's based on their music, not Bob's.

C'mon, don't be too tough on the guys. Jakob will never get over the fact that his dad is one of the basic influences in contemporary music. And yes, they are not a really great group. But they are not that bad, and their music is not annoying - more than I can say about many bands that believe they are the next reincarnation of the Beatles!
