![]() The Velvet Hour (2003) [ larger cover art ] |
Thought you had
all the answers
to rest your heart upon.
But something happens,
don't see it coming, now
you can't stop yourself.
Now you're out there swimming...
In the deep.
In the deep.
Life keeps tumbling your heart in circles
till you... Let go.
Till you shed your pride, and you climb to heaven,
and you throw yourself off.
Now you're out there spinning...
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep.
And now you're out there spinning...
And now you're out there spinning...
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep.
in the silence
all your secrets
raise their weary heads
and you can't pin yourself
back together
with who you thought you were.
Now you're out there livin'...
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep...
Now you're out there spinning...
Now you're out there swimming...
Now you're out there spinning...
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep.
In the deep...

| flight750 (Long Beach, CA) | Posted: Jan 27, 2013 - 13:45 Really really nice; first time I heard it was in the Crash soundtrack (not actually the same exact track as this, but just as good); keep up the good work Bill and Rebecca!!! |
| AndyJ (Oregon) | Posted: Jan 08, 2013 - 22:59 Nice evening... Mostly -8-s and a couple of clunkers...Also another $100 spent at Amazon... All I can add is "Thanks for the ride-!"... RP is a lovely, albeit expensive, pleasure... It could be worse... I could be collecting single malts, single casks, vintage wines, beautiful women... Instead, I have chosen song... This has the advantage of a pleasure enjoyed now and again and again... |

OK, while your point is a good one, I think Bird deserves better. This is first rate. Actually, I think her voice is just OK; this is simply a great arrangement, a great song. She's got a lot of edge to her music. For someone with a small output, she is batting like 750 and is a truly remarkable artist in my opinion. |

I know what you mean, and I don't put her in the same category as those other artists, but she arrived in a different era than those artists did - an era of music/media saturation where everything portable and fleeting. Also, I'd be surprised if any great numbers of people remember anything by those other artists fifty years hence: forever is a pretty long time. |
| MirageRF (Clemmons, NC, USA) | Posted: Apr 03, 2012 - 12:00 Fragile yet soothing voice. Good late nite song. RP! Hey! Can I have a second helping please? |

So odious to compare. One man's shite is another man's truffle, I say. As for me, I had to get out of the tub to find out who she is and what that song was. I just wanna hear it again! |
