uh, what's wrong with 'just another eighties synth-pop band'? New Order is an off-shoot of Joy Division, and Ian Curtis was a brilliant song-writer. i have more appreciation for eighties synth-pop than a lot of the genres on the radio today!

New Order goes pop--quite good. Their singer doesn't have the strongest voice, which limits their emotional punch, but when they put out a driving beat it makes up for his limitations.

Heh. Just as this song began with the guitar riff, I was coming here to post "Wow, this sounds a lot like New Order."

I totally forgot about their recent albums. Very nice modernization of that classic Peter Hook guitar sound.

Doesn't have enough "PUNCH" for me to use in my 'vette but I can see a whole crew of high schoolers' rolling cruising on Sat. night and rocking their long hair back and forth.

It is a nice catchy tune tho'.

From the BBC website this morning:

New Order bassist reveals split

Legendary Manchester pop band New Order have split up, according to bassist Peter Hook.

Speaking about his involvement in Perry Farrell's new group Satellite Party, Hook told Xfm the band had broken up.

He and frontman Bernard Sumner had gone their separate ways and are no longer working together, he said.

As one who was a never a New Order fan... but one who really enjoys "The Soundtrack Of Our Lives" and "Black Rebel Motorcycle Club", I have to say...

This has a TSOOL and BRMC feel ... and I dig it.

Just think about it. Where else can you turn on the 'Radio' and hear ANY New Order?.

True. But whereas old NO didn't get played because it was too good for radio, this stuff doesn't get played because even Clear Channel idiots can tell... this stuff bites.

I'm a longtime fan, and I think this is their greatest album. While they have great and superb songs here & there, this one as a whole is just fantastic. And yes, I've heard almost all of it. I'd put Low Life second and Technique third, but not if you include the first Electronic CD.

The video for this tune is pretty funny.
