Love the cover art. Love the voice. Love the tune. I guess I'm in love. La la la la la di la la. A real shame this band is now defunct.

This band has lots of good songs, Definitely only one song on RP is simply unfair.

Sounds very much Edie Brickell from the 80's

Wow, I thought this was another clever Bill segue, having been played right after Simon and Garfunkle (at first I thought it was Edie Brickel)

Anyway, like it - and agree that the artwork on the cover is really classic looking.

I just love these guys. Saw them at Lee's Palace a few years ago in Toronto, complete with a string section and a theremin. Magical.

The chorus sounds very similar to Edie Brickell, specifically a song called Green

I've always liked this song from the first time I found RP. Also, the album cover is nostalgic for me, being of a certain demographic. {#Biggrin}

funny story how I got to these guys, few years ago when I was still into Anime (please don t start a discussion about ANime) I was watching 'Gunslinger Girl' and the opening theme was really really good, liked it alot, so I got the original soundtrack for the series, and then after getting it I saw the OP theme was called 'The Light before we land', by none other than 'the delgados' !

anyway, funny coincidence, hearing them on rp, because just yesterday I was wondering if Bill knew that band, and I highly recommend that song 'the light before we land' ...

Yes, now that you mention this.  It's particularly reminiscent of some of the stuff from Frente's second full album, Shape.  Alas, the stuff I've heard from their recent reincarnation is a pale echo of their original splendor.

Oooh, I love the little break-down in this...  never fails to evoke goosebumps (and I've had the album for awhile now).  Still not sure why... and that makes it even cooler.

Whoops... said this before apparently {#Redface}

Man, it's nice to hear that instead of the usual complaint of "it's overplayed"!

BTW, I agree this is a tune I'd like to hear more often.

Well, THAT was unexpected. Not the song, I mean, the fact that I downloaded it from iTunes before it even ended. I NEVER do that. Huh.

But of course, the song WAS unexpected. Although, when I said, "THAT was unexpected," I meant my reaction to it, the iTunes download. Glad you're on board.
