Resignation Superman makes me go out of my mind with joy. |
| keenevision (Near Boston) | Posted: Mar 27, 2011 - 09:38 A good tune; not BHTM's best, but a good song. I've always been impressed by the sound of this three man band. |

Agreed. Not close to my fav BHT record but gets an 8 on principle. |
| fredriley (Nottingham, UK) | Posted: Mar 12, 2010 - 06:11 I thought he was singing "don't sell her, I love her" until I looked at the track title. Todd himself is boring and monotonous (almost literally - maybe 4 notes all song?), so bring on the Monsters as they might be interesting. 3 from the Nottingham jury. |

It's Big Head Todd... it's automatically both. |
| oldviolin | Posted: Apr 23, 2008 - 19:20 This whole record kicks. |
| tracykash | Posted: Jan 20, 2008 - 09:24 Cool, mellow, minimalistic track. Mixed down very well. |
| ri_shelton (A few clicks up the river) | Posted: Jan 20, 2008 - 09:24 You know, whenever a BHT song plays, I KNOW what it must be BHT, but I look all-the-same, as I wonder if anyone else has mastered that strum on the guitar. Wonderful, thanks. |
| godspeed (maui) | Posted: Dec 19, 2007 - 22:28 margaritas, laughter, and good music....thanks rp~ |
| nausicaa (By the door.) | Posted: Sep 16, 2007 - 17:20 This song must be about a pet; perhaps a cat in the neighborhood. |

I honestly thought that the lyrics were these: "Please don't sell her; I love her." |
| erichb | Posted: Aug 16, 2007 - 07:18 Not my favorite BHT track, but I have always been a big fan of this particular album. |

| okobojicat (Dreaming of the Moravian Highlands) | Posted: Apr 11, 2007 - 13:43 Very interesting. The first Big Head Todd song I've seen on RP that just gets ripped in the comments section. Probably too poppy and not enough blues like the rest of their stuff. Myself, I'll take a change up once and a while. |

| celadonstone (the Lowcountry of SC (2858.50 mi East of Paradise)) | Posted: Jan 24, 2007 - 11:59 It sure does sound like "sell"... I always leave her waiting I always leave her down if she should come my way I always turn around Please don't tell her I love her I always keep her out I never let her in If she should come my way weeping I greet her with a grin Please don't tell her I love her if she should discover the colors of my love she will fly, fly away Now you can try tenderness You can try to hang around Oh, but I'm sure she'll love you less I'm sure she'll bring you down Please don't tell her I love her |

Hahaha... Big Head Todd reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. She loved them and Toad the Wet Sprocket. So I kinda detest them already! I'm not sure i'd waste $50 on the memory. ;-) Also my 2 cents on the lyrics: I will swear up and down that he's saying "please don't SELL her" I have a very nice pair of headphones and I cranked up the volume... no matter how closely I listen, each time he is definitely saying SELL, despite the title and the not-making-sense part. :) If he is indeed singing 'sell', that definitely pops the song back into the eclectic category, rather than the pop category where it belongs! |

I've seen them many many times, but they had Hazel Miller with them as a nice treat. If you ever get the chance to see them live, please do yourself the favor of going. You will not regret it! |

| Govi (Left Coast) | Posted: Oct 28, 2005 - 05:45 best song on the album. On Radio Alice or KFOG, I heard a live version that's even better, though. Such a warm voice, with a sweet raspiness, and the reggae rhythm, slowed and mellowed. |

| ortenzia (san francisco, ca) | Posted: May 04, 2005 - 08:32 I bought "live monsters" on a whim. This and "Bittersweet" turned out to be the only 2 tracks that I listened to more than once. Everything else turned into a large mush of generic, In-a-Pier-1-Store rock that slowly became more and more irritating. Don't want to insult the Big Head Todd fans out there but wow, one of the lesser purchases I've made. Anyone want the album? ; ) |

Aw, you're just jealous you didn't score an 800 in math on the SAT and go to Cornell for engineering. ;-) Hey, for the time they were alright. I don't mind BHT, but I don't find their songs distinctive, either. This one's pretty good. |
