I think you forgot a couple of clichés in there, Bubba.

Anyway, I wouldn't consider this country just because they used a pedal steel guitar, any more than the presence of a saxophone makes a song jazz or cellos make it classical music.

C&W - ugh! Just the sound of that horizontal guitar makes me think of songs about dead dogs, cheatin' wives, truckers, run-down bars, trailer-bound rednecks, and saccharine melodrama. As C&W goes this is just about listenable, but only just, though I dare say C&W fans think it's the bee's knees. 2 from the Nottingham jury.

The melody is very similar to Kate Rusby - Botany Bay or at least the version I am familiar with. I still like it though.
