It's funny. I'm a huge U2 fan, but I know countless other fans who loathe and despise this track. I've come to accept that I'm probably one of about 2 dozen people in the world who actually think this track is great.

Never been a huge U2 fan, for whatever reason. Most of their stuff just doesn't turn my crank. But this track rocks.

and then The Edge with his sonic buzzsaw.

I so wish I could get past Bono's sophomoric lyric writing. "Don't believe in Goldman / his type like a curse. Instant karma's gonna get him / if I don't get him first." Does anyone really remember Goldman's book about Lennon? Not really. So then this lyric was a little penny-ante swipe at the guy that probably gave him more press than he deserved.

Then, "gonna kick the darkness till it bleeds daylight." Yes, he gives credit to Cockburn. But how about not stealing it in the first place?

LOVE RATTLE AND HUM!!! one the best albums ever! Love this song, although Lennon's "God" is truly Godlike.
