Not the best song on the album - but still gets an 8 from me...

The album as whole (if we could vote on albums) would get a 10 - there aren't many albums that I've listened to over and over and yet still haven't tired of.  This is one, Catherine Wheel's "Chrome" is another.

Great tune.  A simple structure, but killer vocal rhythms.  I wouldn't say that Tanya is off key... it's her vocal style.  I'm really not getting the negative comments towards this tune.

Love, love, love this song! I had the cassette of this back in the day and now have the CD. Still one of my favorite albums.

Well, the "1" bit is right.  That's all it gets from me.

Interesting... if you do this deliberately, it's going to make "A Day in the Life" sound awfully tinny...

I saw them at Cornell University quite a few years ago. They played a song with Catherine Wheel, which I didn't like then, and have't acquired a taste for yet. The opening gig, however, was one sweet and largely unknown girl, then, named... Jewel.
I quite like Belly, and some of Tanya's later work. However, that day at the concert, the truth of the matter is that what really surprised me and blew me away was Jewel's performance.
She was warm, friendly, intimate and as at ease with the audience as if she were ntertaining a group of her buddies in her living room.
Tanya, on the other hand, I found rather aloof and a tad pretentious.
I haven't looked at any figures that could determine who became a more recognized pop star in the following year, Jewel or Tanya...

Actually, they broke up after their second CD (undeservedly) flopped both critically and commercially. Tanya Donnelly went solo and released three CDs so far.
