Just saw her at the Largo in L.A. last night. The night before she was at the Hollywood Bowl with Peter Gabriel. She was perfect and very nice to us all. In person her voice is perfect. There were only about 60 of us and she took the time to thank us all and sign for us. She is as sweet and sincere as they come. I wish all could see her sing, it is a treat I would do it again in a heart beat.

Lovely - another introduction by RP to a talented and unique artist. Thanks B&R!
Ane Brun is a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist originally from Norway. Since 2000 she has lived in Stockholm, Sweden, where she started her own independent record label DetErMine Records together with The Tiny´s leadsinger Ellekari Larsson in 2002.

I love this song. Haunting, lyrical vocals... beautifully complimented by the accompaniment. Good job.

So what does Norwegian music sound like? Personally I think its fairly representative with its somewhat dark mood and calm flowing sound.

Maybe it's just me, but your choice of music today sounds awfully damned "mournful." Need something upbeat for my shitty mood?

Bill just said: "Right now from Sweden - Ane Brun...". To clear things up - she's from Norway but currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden.

And I'm so happy to hear so much swedish music here on RP - Kent, Cardigans, Koop, Jose Gonzalez, Soundtrack of our lives, Anna Ternheim, Sophie Zelmani...

(btw, I love Norway :)

Saw Ane play a gig in London last week.....and she's very good live to put it mildly. Bought this album from here and have been most impressed with all of the songs on the album including her collaboration with Ron Sexsmith.

Nice to hear Ane here on RP. She's from the same county as me here in Norway. Last year I attended a concert with her at Molde Jazz festival. Check out her CD's and be looking for a tune called "Lift me".
