Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer
Goin' faster than a roller coaster
Love like yours will surely come my way
A-hey, a-hey hey
Everyday, it's a-gettin' faster
Everyone said, "Go up and ask her"
Love like yours will surely come my way
A-hey, a-hey hey
Everyday seems a little longer
Every way, love's a little stronger
Come what may, do you ever long for
True love from me?
Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer
Goin' faster than a roller coaster
Love like yours will surely come my way
A-hey, a-hey hey
Everyday seems a little longer
Every way, love's a little stronger
Come what may, do you ever long for
True love from me?
Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer
Goin' faster than a roller coaster
Love like yours will surely come my way
A-hey, a-hey hey
Love like yours will surely come my way

No. that was said with tongue firmly in cheek. the beatles did, indeed, idolize him (see: lennon's glasses) and even covered "words of love". they took what he was doing and RAN with it. songs from "do you want to know a secret" up to "it's only love" have holly stamped all over them. and when you listen to songs like this and "well alright" they could have easily been lennon/mcartney tunes. after all holly was the original beatle! |

| TanteJensen (one step ahead from my shoe shine, two steps away from the county line) | Posted: Dec 08, 2008 - 03:11 One of my all time favorites. 1 / 1 / 4 / 5 nearly always gets me going (and BH uses it quite often), but the really, really cool thing (chord structure wise) are those quart steps in the middle eight with the last Bb resolving in an A resolving the circle as well as all questions, anxiousness and uncertainties. 10. |

| bachbeet | Posted: Aug 03, 2008 - 19:05 During the 60s I liked Holly but really didn't appreciate his artistry as much as I do now. He really was ahead of his time with his melodies, instrumentation and lyrics. And at such a young age. No telling what he would have done had he lived to a ripe old age. Yet another tragic loss of a musical genius. |
| denmom (Connecticut) | Posted: Jul 03, 2008 - 05:14 I am a slavish fan of Buddy Holly, but this is one of my least favorite tracks of his. How about some of his really fab stuff? |
