If J.S. Bach or Pachelbel heard this, I think they would go "Whoa! funkalicious! That's the sound I have been looking for!"

Maybe it sounds ridiculous to you, but scores of musical artists have used the clavinet, and still use it.  Great song.

Good enough to play with the Beatles.
Don't forget he played with the Beatles at their last live performance atop the Apple building in London.

And pretty much throughout the whole "Get Back/Let it Be" recording sessions. I think he's also on "Let it Be," and maybe a few more songs of "Let it Be."

Oh yeah! Billy Preston on the Hammond organ. Played and recorded with Beatles at the end. Got to see him with George Harrison in Tucson doing Will It Go Round in Circles, Ravi Shankar filled the rest of the bill. Peace to the world is the mantra we all need to sing.

Billy Preston is also the ONLY good thing (with the possible exception of Steve Martin) in the "Sgt. Pepper" movie. If you see it listed on TV, tune in for the last 15 minutes to catch Preston (as the reincarnated Sgt Pepper), doing "Get Back". Other than that, the movie is drek. It doesn't even work on a camp level.
