As I have  commented, with reference to other songs from this album, this band sounds remarkably different from song to song. Not only are the instrumentals full of unexpected twists and turns, but the lyrics are sure to baffle. Overall a really good album that I have listened to until my daughter complained. Their influences, as noted in other comments, are quite varied.

Yeah they're still one of my favourite Melbourne bands, but I liked their first two albums (Sunset Studies and Strange Bird) a lot better than this one. My favourite song of this album was Bottle Baby - I sometimes cover that song and get a great response.
