O.K., I guess it's all right if they return from Antarctica for this one. Not a huge fan of this band by any stretch, but this one beats the Antarctica song any day.

I actually find that the male vocals that sound more "spoken" repeated throughout remind me of some old Sparks stuff.

Example: "Eaten By The Monster Of Love"

sooo much better than the dustin hoffman album. But maybe that's partly because this wasn't recorded on an four track in someone's basement

of course, what better song title is there than: "Dustin Hoffman Becomes Indignant and Wets Himself"

Yeah that is about right. I bought 3 (this one, gorillaz demon days (not as good as their first) and john butler trio) albums at one time about a month ago and I still havn't listened to one (john butler trio) of them all the way through. Of Montreal seems to have a permant spot (#3) in my changer.

It is nothing like what I'm used to hearing (I'm more of a bluesy, rock and roll guy first) but I do like this one anyway. Interesting sound.

Wow - I am really digging this! Been hearing lots of this group on RP lately - had never heard of them at all beforehand. I love the combination of various elements here, especially the horns.

I hear the Talking Heads influence with these guys, but it actually reminds me more of Tom Tom Club, which included just a couple Heads as I understand it, and generally had (to my ears) a more synthy, pop sound than a lot of the Talking Heads stuff.

Moved from a 6 to a 7 for me - and I'm actually starting to appreciate that bizarre ending.

Wire? Buzzcocks? Joy Division? Sometimes I find it annoying when bands wear their influences on their sleeves... In this case, I don't mind.

EDIT: Um, we just swicthed to a new song? Maybe I do mind after all.

I thought was hip to sound like Joy Division nowadays? Maybe the Talking Heads is the next big retro-hip thing.

I realize they're an "indie" band, but does that mean they need to try *everything* in one track?

PS: They at least have a pretty acceptable singer. That can be a big killer for a group before they establish themselves.
