I think my brain is skipping. Can someone nudge the arm please?

Maybe it's just the last set.

wow.. as much as i loved Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and Soft Bulletin, I quite dislike this song... perhaps it's one of the ones on this cd that I've heard is 'not so great'... but the rest is supposed to be pretty sweet. *shrug*

What the!? Ok, now the 2nd part sounds nothing at all like the same song, and is quite nice. Quite moody and (dare I say) ethereal. If the song was only this last portion, I'd like to hear it again...otherwise, I can't get past that first part.

YES!

I bought it after RP had already made me a believer in the "Yoshimi" album and rushed out to buy "Mystics" the day it came out. After giving it one full listen I thought I just bought my latest drink coaster...then I figured I'd give it another shot. Hmm, some of the songs were cool that time. By listen 5 or so I was fully into it and I like it more than "Yoshimi" now. Go figure!

I can easily see that one song plucked out of the rest doesn't really stand on it's own though. If your fealing brave...go buy it and listen multiple times.

There are some Flaming Lips songs I like. This sure isn't one of them. What were they thinking?

Edited to add...

The suckageness of the first half of this song gets stronger with time. Down from a 3 to a 1. The second half is like something from Sigur Rios...not unpleasant as the first half, but nothing that'd make me rush out and buy the album.

This song doesn't do much for me (especially that line "it master-slaves me"), but I much prefer the silly Lips to the serious Lips (see "Do You Realize").
