Better parted
I see people crying
Truth gets harder
There's no sense in lying
Help me find a way from this maze
I can't help myself
When I see tenderness before you left
That even breaking up was never meant
But only angels look before they tread
Better parted
I see people hiding
Speech gets started
There's no sense in writing
Help me find a way through this maze
I'm living,in another world with you
And I can't help myself
Did I see tenderness where you saw hell
Did I see angels in the hand I held
God only know's what kind of tale you'd tell
I see people crying
Truth gets harder
There's no sense in lying
Help me find a way from this maze
I can't help myself
When I see tenderness before you left
That even breaking up was never meant
But only angels look before they tread
Better parted
I see people hiding
Speech gets started
There's no sense in writing
Help me find a way through this maze
I'm living,in another world with you
And I can't help myself
Did I see tenderness where you saw hell

Perhaps it's my age, but this era is definitely outside my enjoyment range Funny, but perhaps that is not what a lot of young (perhaps your age) felt when the covers of a lot of 80s songs, namely Talk Talk's 'It's My Life', came out in the air again. Now, don't get me wrong, what I am just trying to say is that the sound of the 80s (pure, recycled or otherwise) CAN be enjoyed almost twenty years later, and NOT trying to imply that, just because it got aired again is good. I am done with the old "all the 80s music is trahs" cable TV discourse. That you do not get it, fine, it might be a matter of taste, which is understandable, but certainly these guys, among a few others, were putting some good tunes those days. |

Was about to make a cheap typo gag about band member Tim Freise-Greene and then I looked on the sleeve notes and found that you are right! This is the only track on the whole album he does not play on - so it is Timless.... (PS that's Steve Winwood on hammond too...) |

Maybe listen more closely next time? This track does have prominent synths. TT used synths quite extensively up to Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock. |
