Same here. But it's nice to take the time to laugh too! Enjoyed the funny break Bill ;)

If I'm not mistaken, Henley actually joined Mojo onstage for a duet of this song in a small Austin club (Hole in the Wall, maybe?) many moons ago.

Edit: Yoinks, I see below that someone beat me to it and did a much more thorough job to boot.

Edit #2: From (click here) http://holeinthewalltx.tripod.com/chronology.html:

1992
August - Don Henley surprises Mojo Nixon onstage to sing with him on "Don Henley Must Die".

Elvis is everywhere.

Except in the evil, opposite, anti-Elvis.

I have to agree. I LOVE "Boys of Summer" and I still completely cracked up and think it was a brilliant programming choice (actually on the part of scottfromwyoming as Bill just pointed out.

Laughing is good!!!

From the song comments for Jello Biafra & Mojo Nixon's "Are You Drinkin' With Me, Jesus":

Mojo Nixon used to do a song, with Skid Roper, called Don Henley Must Die. One time when he was playing it, Don Henley was there, and came on stage and sang backup vocals. Mojo later said that he would no longer play the song because he found Don to be a good guy. Check out the lyrics to Don Henley Must Die sometime, and you'll see how funny it was that Henley sang backup vocals.

And...

I believe Mojo Nixon's exact words were, "The man's got balls the size of church bells." :)

He still does the song, but now it's called, "Phil Collins Must Die." No argument from me there.

"Phil Collins Must Die"... now THERE'S a song I could really get into!

Evidently he thinks it's funny. Legend has it that he sang it onstage with Mojo at least once.

Although the song is good, it sounds like a spoilt brat complaining about his parents' music tastes.

I was listening to Boys of Summer thinking, "wow, I haven't heard this in a while, it takes me back." Then the Mojo Nixon follow-up cracked me up.

Fabulous!

Perfect programming! I love RP!

Now, if you'll only add "Elvis is Everywhere", I'll be happy.

Or maybe "Debbie Gibson is Pregnant With My Two-Headed Love Child".
