I'd put them in one category with rap and other urban "music". Simply not likeable, but peer pressure creates Stockholm syndrome.

Can the Talking Heads please stop talking over (what passes for) music, so they are no long played on a music radio station? What a thorougly appaling band this is.

... I even had to play TWO different songs before this horror was finally over :)

Talking Heads by wnick87

The Talking Heads were an American rock band that formed in the early 1970s and was based out of New York City. Their sound combined punk rock, pop, funk rock, art rock, and later in their career, world music. In David Byrne, they had one of the most distinctive front men of the period; they were extremely popular while they were originally together, and continue to influence many musicians to this day.

Why I love them - I was introduced to them while in high school to a friend who suggested that I watch Stop Making Sense. My favorites include Cross-eyed and Painless and the album The Name of this Band is Talking Heads (album art pictured).

It's interesting you call their first album "hippie." Oh, I don't know what anything means, anymore. It's just a big, black, nothing.

Saw him in Philly.  Fantastic show.  Amazing how fresh 30 year old songs sounded.  Houses in Motion was particularly good, but then again everything off of Remain in Light was epic.  I can't believe he played "Air".  Brilliant.

Rated 1 on principle...WAY too much TH/DB on RP!

I mean, we hear at least one TH/DB every day. Why? They aren't THAT great, especially when compared to <fill in the blank>. What other artist do you hear EVERY day here, other than tracks from those "new" CDs with which Bill is infatuated at the moment (i.e., Elbow, My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes, Madrugada, Jenny Lewis, et al.)

Ugh!
