And why should TBGT hit the original notes. The funniest and most ingenious comments on RP are for TBGT. Come on now, they're original, different and don't sound like anyone else. Originality is all-good. Carry on TBGT. I'm a fan.

very interesting vocal
this song sounds good. standalone. without any connection to Prince version: same lyric, similar music but ABSOLUTELY different spirit.

PS: how come PR brings cover diamonds? like next song for example Johnny Cash - One :)

Maybe I just don't get it.. but this sounds like anybody remaking the song.

This remake is just not that good.

No way.  The Be Good Tanyas are great!  But this cover is not.

It's like a perfectly grilled steak covered in... chocolate sauce.  Just not a good combo. :(

Not much of a track, but at least it gives everyone something to get thoroughly stuck in to and makes for good reading...

I try not to make negative posts but this song just begs for it. It's one of the lowest rated songs I've ever seen on RP and it sucks. Why is it on the playlist? BillG loves his covers! But he and Rebecca are great enough to let us listeners say what we think is crap, so they have my accolades.

I love a few of their songs. . . .
This is certainly not one of them.
Actually, this is one of the least annoying songs Prince does. Talented people.
Horrid music.
But done with talent.

You've got hand it to Prince to write a song with a title this amazingly cheesy, yet the song is pretty cool. That's hard to pull off.

I normally like this group's stuff, but I think this song choice might have merited some reconsideration. The drifts off into flat notes on the ends of the song lines are a little too glaring here.

My first reaction was shock at the difference of this version over Prince's. And then I remembered, I do not like Prince's music.

I'm guessing it's because no one other than Bill would have the, er, taste? to play something like this.

But that's ok, because the bad/mediocre stuff makes the 9s and 10s sound even better!
