Bill - I think officially Patty and Robert have both denied the rumour, which was sparked by a remark by Robert that he had eloped and that Patty called an embellishment

Must have been a bad day when I first rated this.  WTF was I thinking giving it a 6, moved to a 9.

Man, when I first heard this, I thought it was a younger Bonnie Raitt - even looks a bit like her.  What a beautiful, soulful song - and that voice... Turns me to jelly every time. {#Sunny}

Patty Griffin - "Heavenly Day" Live

Oh heavenly day, all the clouds blew away
Got no trouble today with anyone
The smile on your face I live only to see
It's enough for me, baby, it's enough for me
Oh, heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

Tomorrow may rain with sorrow
Here's a little time we can borrow
Forget all our troubles in these moments so few
All we've got right now, the only thing that
All we really have to do
Is have ourselves a heavenly day
Lay here and watch the trees sway
Oh, can't see no other way, no way, no way
Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

No one at my shoulder bringing me fears
Got no clouds up above me bringing me tears
Got nothing to tell you, I've got nothing much to say
Only I'm glad to be here with you
On this heavenly, heavenly, heavenly, heavenly
Heavenly day, all the trouble's gone away
Oh, for a while anyway, for a while anyway
Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day

Patty Griffin - When It Don't Come Easy, Live from the Artists Den

"Patty Griffin's new album, Children Running Through, was released on a bitterly cold winter day in New York City that turned into an even colder night, with temperatures dropping to 9 degrees Fahrenheit as devoted fans huddled together outside the Orensanz Foundation for the Arts for a chance to see Griffin perform songs from the album for the first time. Inside, the historic building's neo-gothic arches were lit with the warm glow of candlelight as Griffin stepped into the packed room to play a private Artists Den concert, celebrating her record's release and offering a sneak preview of her extensive spring tour. Griffin's crystal-clear voice filled the room with newly penned songs (a handwritten lyrics sheet sat perched on the piano when she took a break from her guitar to play it) as well as Griffin classics, accompanied by new band members and longtime players alike. A special treat on some songs was the addition of legendary keyboardist Ian McLagan (Small Faces, The Rolling Stones) — who appeared for this night only — and a 5-piece string section. At the end of the evening, the lucky audience walked back out into the biting cold braced with the warmth of an unforgettable night. " by Ovation TV

Sorry that is how I feel, this gal is so talented and it is a shame that she is not
better know.  Others have profited from her talent, like Emmylou Harris,Dixie Chicks,
to name a few and they are no where near as talented as Patty Griffin is.

I saw her twice at the Fillmore in SF. Someone shouted out 'Fee Bird!' and she sang a bit of it acapella. It was beautiful and gave everyone a smile.

LOL...nice analogy.

Yeah, one of her friends told her she should write happier songs, so this is her shot at a love song...but to her dog.

Indeed, the most noticeable feature of this city are three hideous white crosses nestled between a Wal-Mart store and a Hummer dealership, looking all the like a cross between a modern-day Golgotha and Berlin during the Third Reich.

What could the reason be for those crosses?

My family and I were lamenting that fact the other day: to be the "live music capitol of the world" the FM selections around here really blow. And how come there aren't more street musicians? If 6th street thinks it is Bourbon street at least it would be nice to hear some occasional good New Orleans style street music. We were in Nawlins and walked around the corner into a full blown concert going on in a dark vacant lot - it was The Dirty Dozen Brass Band just out jammin for kicks. Awesome.

Be careul what you say... You dont know how good you have it in Austin. Besides by having at least KGSR you are way ahead of the rest of the country that has nothing but the Clear Channel garbage. Try living in a soul-less city.
