Ooh, that's harsh. I generally loathe Tori, but I don't mind this.

I've never been a Tori fan, however, I don't dislike her music. I appreciate her when I hear her and respect her as a songwriter/musician. This is the first time I've heard this track and I quite like it. It really jumped out at me, which her music hasn't done for me before. It is a step in a different direction compared to what I've heard from Tori in the past and I like where she's going. She's suffered the Kate Bush comparison for years, and at the beginning, I was right there with many others, waving my "critic's finger". I don't now. It's nice to see an artist grow and evolve like she has.

...and she can't go wrong having Matt Chamberlain play for her, he is a phenomenal drummer.

Is the name of this LP influenced by the name Insane Clown Posse?

It doesn't sound like that on my CD or MP3... and I only hear in certain parts on here.  That's odd... {#Think}

I like it, too. Sure, pure pristine unproduced raw Tori is amazing, but there's plenty of room in Tori's musical universe for stuff like this -- good stuff like this

I agree. Her earlier stuff wasn't as overproduced and sounded MUCH better. Lots of pop stuff, especially in the last several years, is seemingly produced and mixed for iPod listeners who commute on a noisy NYC subway.

And genuinely magical artists, like Tori, don't need a bunch of overdone effects in their mix to make up for a lack of talent. Tori isn't Britney Spears or Kelly Clarkson but the producer and/or engineer gives her the same treatment on this CD.

I have no idea when the interview was given, but she was yanking the DJ's chain. I'm pretty sure she's said that Bush was an influence. And I don't think many musicians lived through the 80's without at least hearing one Bush song.

With that said, I think Joni Mitchell influenced Amos more than Bush.
