Why? It was perfect the first time. That being said, How can you not like Johnny Cash's Personal Jesus.

Normally I'm all for Bill's selection of covers, but this is just WEIRD.

This version should not have been recorded.

If I had never heard the original, I may have given this a 6.
But this will go down as a failed cover song.

I've been trying to get Texas Lightning to do a US tour.  They broke up for a while and I think they're back together again.  It would be a fun show.  danagle wrote:

This makes me think of the band Luther Wright and the Wrongs, and their cover of the entire album The Wall by Pink Floyd. The whole thing was done in a bluegrass style; it was quite surreal. I highly recommend checking it out!

Apparently, a lot of people disagree with me. but I think that this is one of the best covers I have ever heard.  The old school country beat and instruments are an amazing compliment to this song.  Clean and well crafted.  Great stuff!

Kristy Kruger does a great alt country version of 'never let me down again' that would fit right in with this and Johnny Cash's rendition of 'personal Jesus' - it'd be quite a set. Must upload Ms Kruger....

Or a complete cover of PF's The Wall, by Luther Wright and the Wrongs as a bluegrass album.

This album is way better than it has any right to be. Check it out, if you dare!
