The quote you desccribe is generally attributed to Carlene Carter (a cousin, I believe).  Legend has moved it to Roseanne's credit.

Half sister. Carlene's father was Carl Smith, June's first husband.

Except for most of King's Record Shop, I think Roseanne's material is way too slickly produced.

Their voices are similar, but Rosanne's inflections and phrasing don't have as much 'Thorazine' sound to them.

Wow, was just going to comment on how much I loved the Cowboy Junkies and how I had missed this song, and then read the comment of the last entry.

I just sorta love her.

From what little I know, Roseanne Cash is a believer in karma and reincarnation - she did a wonderful song called "The Wheel" which was released in 1993 on her album of the same name. Lots of very introspective and hard-hitting songs on that work. I had it on cassette, and (goes into broken-record-mode...) it disappeared in one of several moves from place to place. I WILL be getting it on CD, because it's worth it.

She´s great, saw her in Malmö at KB a month ago. Great show together with her husband.

Well, this got my attention away from what I'm supposed to be doing.  I'll have to investigate further.
Though as a fair weather sailor, the cover is a bit disturbing!!!

Excellent. Thanks for playing Rosanne Cash and this genre.

She and Mary Chapin Carpenter are my favorite of this kind of crossover country/folk tinged pop rock genre, both good songwriters, fine singers with excellent bands. I have most of Chapin's CD's and some of Roseanne's and none have disappointed me, quality stuff every time out. I do love this type of music, and hope to hear more artists of this kind if you have them in the vault.

It's all coming back to me now.
But try as I have to keep,
The taste of you off of my tongue;
Your face from my fitful sleep.

And I wait and hope against hope like before.
And I wait and hope that I won't anymore.

Nice. I've liked Rosanne ever since her very first album back in the 80s.
