You've been gone much longer
Than you ever said you had the plan to
I'm just gonna wait 'till you come home
Though I count the days, they're grey without you
The weather's much better when I think about you
I'm just gonna wait till you come home
Empty glasses, burnt out matches
Curtains drawn on near-full blackness
I'm sleeping through the day
You're coming home
To reclaim this heart you owned
Lover
Leave me
Make me burn
You're coming back!
You're coming back!
I'll wait patiently
For your return
You're coming back!
You're coming back!
I'm clutching at straws
I'm climbing up the walls
But every time I fall
Back into my hole
I'm feeling like a wretch
I'm looking for a catch
But you're an itch that I can't scratch
I know you're coming back
You've been gone so long you're fading
And it takes all the time I can find just retaining
Thoughts of things we did while you were here
But I know you will return my dear

Also bear in mind it is the work of one man, unsigned, and doing all the writing, playing all the instruments and mixing and releasing it himself. Quite an achievement I think and well worth considering when evaluating this piece. Anyway, I often email artists if I like their stuff and did so to him. . . he mailed back and we had a bit of a chat. He seems a top bloke and is about to release another cd he has been slaving over. So. If you like this, go and buy a copy and help keep an artist in funds, I think he deserves it. Wally also emailed me when I ordered this cd several years ago. He's incredibly creative.

This song "Coming Back" does not sound Gabrielish though. Gotye is growing on me

It is on "The Sunday of Life". Go figure. Now his an international Pop Star and Lead singer of Porcupine Tree. I like Gotye. Friend turned me on to them at a party a couple of weeks ago. Nice sound! :)

| coloradojohn (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan -- 15 min. west of Shinjuku, center of the freaking Universe) | Posted: Sep 22, 2008 - 05:45 The very beginning sounds like the intro for the Cristo Redentor (single version) by Harvey Mandel... then it goes into that tango-ish groove... and flirts with lots of other trippy stuff that made me not like it so much when it was in heavy rotation but gives me a kick when I hear it only once in a while... At any rate, it's just the type of stuff (interesting, diverse, nicely WEIRD) that I wonder if it'd get airplay anywhere else but here, the greatest station in this quadrant of the cosmos... LOVE THIS RP! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
