Clearly I don't listen enough. I have never heard this here...and I don't hear Dylan that much...but I do love this song!

Great-good song.... Too much truth for one man's lifetime... Charlie is also good with his presentation. Lots of truth in every couplet.
Thanks

I'ma have to invest in this CD - I love Alejandro Escovedo (his song "Guilty" is up there on my top ten favorite songs list), and Mr. Musselwhite's rendition of this song is ragged, informal, and just perfect.  Doin' a lot of dancin' today, Bill - is it because it's Rebecca's birthday? I hope you took her someplace very nice, spent bucketloads of money on her, and let her know that everyone worships her.

What?  You didn't?  She wanted WHAT?  Well, geez - I guess saving Paradise a person at a time could be a lot of fun. Thanks to both of you for all the great music I really can't afford but buy anyway. You are the best "bad influence" I've ever had. {#Roflol}

It's more like the other way around: Alejandro Escovedo first released this song in 1999, and Charlie Musselwhite did so in 2004. Tom Waits released Bone Machine in 1992.
Musselwhite has recorded with Tom Waits on more than one occasion as well.
