Classical CH!

The album - though good - cannot reach their old standards.

I have never been a big fan... but this is a good song.

I'm a huge CH fan, but the songs on this album are just plain bad, with a few exceptions. I'd love to hear Pour le Monde or Heaven That I'm Making instead.

This song is O.K.
Bland and yet inoffensive.

My buddy Bemis is from Mississippi. He can make any one syllable word two. To wit: "Day-amn!" Okay, not exactly the same as squeezing meaning, but close... {#Wink}

Hmmm. It has been a very Finn filled day. Not that I'm complaining at all.

Thank you Radio Paradise for making me realise that there is so much more to Crowded House than "Dont Dream Its Over," featured on many of my junior high and summer camp mix tapes.

Busted! Yet again {#Doh} No Tim, but Neil did get back together with Nick Seymour, the other founding member of Crowded House, when this album was recorded. {#Yes}

Around the time Time On Earth came out, I bought the reissue of their Farewell To The World DVD. I've been a big fan since their first album, so this is a totally biased opinion, but to me it ranks right up there with Stop Making Sense among the great concert films. If you're Crowed House fan — or thinking of becoming one — buy it now!

I am sorry everyone thinks that Crowded House/Neil Finn are so boring.  I guess you just don't get the uniqueness of their music.  It is an acquired taste, so to speak.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I had not thought about it. Just points out the essential sadness of the whole album. Even the more upbeat sounding songs have an undertone of loss, absence and guilt IMO. Still good, or even great in some cases. But there is a missing quality of joy to the overall album that I miss. I'm hoping that they will do another album soonish and have gotten the darkness out of their system with this more cathartic effort.

exactly how I feel about it too.

What a wonderful song. I am going to go get this CD tomorrow. I didn't realize there was a new one out.

Love it when the classic groups have a new release.

Down on the ocean floor
That's where I'm heading for
Hold on to a sinking stone
Until the worst is known

Nobody wants to
Think about it
Nobody wants to
Talk about it
Nobody protects you

They make it go away
Pretending that it's all okay
Broken pieces on the ground
And everyone’s still turning 'round

Nobody wants to
Think about it
Nobody wants to
Talk about it
Nobody protects you

Are we losing something
We used to cry
We used to say why
For all I know
I might not get home
Well, I found out
If we opened it up
We could work this out

Nobody wants to
Nobody wants to
Talk about it now

What you suspected all along
Everything told you was wrong
And you can see it if you want
But nobody wants to
