| isparos9 (Venice, Italy) | Posted: Feb 01, 2013 - 06:43 I usually don't comment on the songs that I don't like, afterall taste is something subjective and I just mute my winamp when this song plays and unmute it when it's over. Life goes on, there are obviously people that like to listen to this song on RP and i totally respect that. But seriously what annoys me is not that I find this song so bad but the fact that it has literally received much more attention due to the similarity with the 'valse d' amelie' of tiersen and it gets to be played about 2 times per month on RP while from the Amelie soundtrack there is only one! song in the music library of RP and we hardly ever listen to it. Bill i really think you should play E18 less times and consider adding more song from the Amelie OST, please :) |

| sajitjacob (Christchurch NZ) | Posted: Dec 19, 2012 - 14:57 Whimsical, picturesque, and rather wonderful. |
| shellbella (so california) | Posted: Dec 19, 2012 - 14:56 This is annoying... |
| old_shep (Iowa) | Posted: Nov 30, 2012 - 13:41 Sounds like Marvin the Martian.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_the_Martian |

| DoctorHooey (/etc) | Posted: Sep 16, 2012 - 08:21 I love this song. Such a fun journey |
| honey_pie | Posted: Aug 28, 2012 - 08:53 Sounds like a mix of Yann Tiersen and Beirut, love it. |
| christopherwoods (West Midlands, United Kingdom) | Posted: Jun 26, 2012 - 09:08 Regrettably this song doesn't have the longevity of other pieces (like La valse d'Amelie, which this is often compared to). I can understand how some poeple like it for its sparse instrumentation but the fundamental theme of the piece just isn't sufficient to hold things together. It's nice and tinkly though, sometimes everyone likes nice and tinkly. (I just mute it and listen to Amelie's Waltz. :-) (and yes, remarkably similar to The Guild's intro music!) |
| Sketchydave (Caerphilly, South Wales, UK.) | Posted: Jun 26, 2012 - 09:05 Sounds a bit like Beirut to me.....I like!! |
| WonderLizard (2,755.46 mi. due east of Paradise) | Posted: May 25, 2012 - 12:36 Don't get the hate there, guys. This is a lovely take on, if I'm not mistaken, a traditional folk song...and another one that I probably won't acquire but will identify in some years, "Oh, yeah, I used to hear that on Radio Paradise." |

| jessicagray2 (anchorage, ak) | Posted: May 12, 2012 - 23:53 Love this song! Is this from the final scene in the movie "Amelie"? |
| Siljanus | Posted: May 03, 2012 - 13:33 I was thinking the same thing! You go, Codex! emh wrote: A 6 for reminding me of The Guild. |
| ScottJD | Posted: Apr 23, 2012 - 18:59 Crap. My 17 year old just walked in the kitchen and was like, what the f? That is what I ask you? Music diversity is wonderful but come on...tuning out! |
| anumidium | Posted: Apr 11, 2012 - 06:45 I can't listen to this. It has no soul. Like a plastic children's circus. |
| Elroweho (Cheesehead in Paradise) | Posted: Apr 11, 2012 - 06:39 Did somebody just open a music box??? |
| stunix (Narrowboat nr Caen Locks) | Posted: Mar 23, 2012 - 01:45 My father played the piano accordian in his younger years, I think although its not the sweetest sounding instrament, it gets alot of stick from people. Cmon, its a portable piano with acompaniment, it just happens to be played by banjo players (if you know what I mean.) why was there no Dueling Accordians? |
| isparos9 (Venice, Italy) | Posted: Mar 10, 2012 - 14:58 Just a bad copy of Tiersen's compositions |
| ce (the Netherlands) | Posted: Feb 20, 2012 - 08:30 modrakocka wrote: Definitely, I must have heard this 10 times, and always assumed it was Yann Tiersen. I'm not sure if this is a cover or a remix or a ripoff of Yann Tiersen. AMG says: "Formed in Wermland, Sweden, in 2005, Detektivbyran is a whimsical trio whose compositions nod to the tender glockenspiel- and accordion-based compositions of Yann Tiersen, the sprightly glitch pop of I Am Robot and Proud, and the click-blippity mania of old-school eight-bit video games." I think there is more than a nod in this song, it's more a kneeling on all fours and chanting "We're not worthy". |
| dackman | Posted: Feb 20, 2012 - 08:26 Sorry, I had to turn this to mute. Waiting for the song to change... |
| emh | Posted: Feb 20, 2012 - 08:25 A 6 for reminding me of The Guild. |

| weevilkinevil (close to Paradise) | Posted: Nov 04, 2011 - 16:33 This song makes me feel sad, like a repressed childhood memory of being lost at a fair or something. Although I don't think I ever was. |

| unclelonghair | Posted: Jul 14, 2011 - 07:26 One of those songs that causes me to rush to the RP web site to give it a lousy rating. How annoying! Sounds like a bad ring tone. |
| MiracleDrug (Earth) | Posted: Jul 14, 2011 - 07:24 GOD I love this time signature!!! |

| AntonRoss (Living on a Soverel 36 Sailboat in downtown Beaufort, SC) | Posted: Nov 23, 2010 - 08:03 Gotta say, I like this song a lot. It reminds me of the film Amelie...a film I absolutely adore. Accordions remind me of France, and that just makes me happy. My 2.77 Euros. YMMV. Anton - On Hilton Hilton Head Island |
