Thanks,  I did not know that.  I had only heard the JP cover of it.

Another RP first for me. I'm not highly familiar with the first incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, but I'm growing to prefer it/them through tracks heard here.  Especially one as enthralling as this. Unusual and pretty awesome.

Right on, daddy-o. They had it going on. I was just listening to "Then Play On" - vinyl of course-  their finest album IMO.

Excellent song!  9

I first heard the Judas Priest version of this song in the 1980s, IIRC.  I was shocked to learn that it was originally a Fleetwood Mac song..

It's been said that people struggling with emotional or psychological issues, as Peter Green was, are more likely to "freak-out" on LSD (Acid), which Green apparently had been taking steadily.  Acid has a tendency to lay bare the layers of personality, so that it is easier to see inside yourself and thus into your dark side.  I find it interesting that his last name is Green and the dog was green.  I wonder if he was seeing a side of himself that he couldn't bear to look at.

...Now back to deciphering the ZOSO and Sergeant Pepper album sleeves!

Actually, his last name is really Greenbaum. So was he looking to apply some the mad dog's saliva on himself as a balm? And why does the end of the song suddenly, uh, peter out?

Great stuff. PG was an ace guitarist. Shame he turned psychic.

Quote from Wikipedia:
He was ranked 38th in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". His tone on the seminal song "The Super-Natural" was hailed as one of the fifty greatest of all time by Guitar Player. Green was rated as the third-best guitarist of all time in the June,1996 edition of "Mojo" magazine.

He still performs!
