I can appreciate some covers, but this just doesn't add anything.
I love the BFS original, as it so suits their musical and lyrical style.
Don't get what this cover is for.

This song is just not nearly as clever as it wants to think it is.

But is the lead guitar as big as the one for Bowling?
BFS is a great cover band as well. They do a great "I Ran" (Flock of Seagulls).

Well, those of you who hate this track can blame me.  I uploaded it.  It was, like, my eighth attempt to get something into the playlist and I was a little stunned to see it accepted after being turned down on "Boom Boom Mancini" by Warren Zevon and a couple of really terrific Forró numbers.  I think this remake is catchy and fun, and am surprised at the negative reactions and the low rating.  Just in case you're curious, it got 19-to-1 "thumbs up" from the LRC crowd.
Well listening to it gave me pleasure jdbaldwin. Thank you.

Took the words out of my mouth!

Still, I think the piano works as a bass replacement (that is a piano, right?). Especially following Tori (ironically singing about the 80s). Good segue.

This compilation is fabulous, but this cover is hardly the one they should be playing.  I uploaded RT doing "Oops, I Did It Again" (which was immediately sorried - go figure) - he shreds on it, brings out the cynicism in the brilliant way that only he can - and then has an acoustic guitar Renaissance breakdown in the middle of it.

Saw Thompson two years ago in a local arts venue. He rocked and I was astonished to think of how long he has been on the road. The man is dedicated to his art.

I didn't think Thompson could sing that fast.

Giving him a 7 for effort.  The song still reeks no matter who sings it...

This project/tour/dvd is a music lesson from Richard. Songs from the years 1000 ad to 1999 ad. Bowling for Soup fell somewhere's in there.

This version seems a little rushed...  maybe if they slowed the tempo down a hair it would sound a bit better.

Sure it did. The songs that don't need covers are the ones that are flawless to begin with. This one sure wasn't.

Oh my god, this is the best set ever!

Richard Thompson - 1985
Hank Williams - Settin' The Woods On Fire
Queen Ida - Jambalaya

You also haven't lived until you've heard RT cover "Oops, I Did It Again."
