| GawgaBoy (State of Confusion) | Posted: Oct 04, 2012 - 16:37 arrrrrgggggggg... I can't believe I missed this. See Bill, a "play in now" button is the perfect solution to this issue. Alas, another nine months before more Zappa. |
| egroman (chicago) | Posted: Oct 04, 2012 - 16:33 That this was done in 69 is amazing. Also saw him at the Riv in Chicago in about 82. Yeh had his back turned most of the time. Some yokel through something on stage. He cut the song mid note, chastised the audience for misbehaving turned back around and with a baton flourish restarted the song exactly where that stopped. |

| ce (The Netherlands) | Posted: Sep 03, 2012 - 03:31 I remember a pub quiz about 10 years ago where they played this and asked the artist/title. The whole big overcrowded pub, or at least my team, seemed to be responding in unison with a baffled "WTF???", while I happily blurted out: "Cool, ZAPPA! Ooops I should have said that a lot quieter..." ![]() |
| Bozo (Steeler Penguin Pirate land) | Posted: Jul 02, 2012 - 05:48 I was fortunate to see Frank at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh: half the time he had his back to the audience, because he was freakin' CONDUCTING the cracker-jack band (as always). That night I was entertained by a genius!!! Got to see Dweezil at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg Pa. His arrangements were spot-on: if you have the chance, go see him. |

| unclehud (300 feet above the planet) | Posted: Jan 25, 2012 - 11:15 Thanks for a tune from the Zapper-man! Dweezil has been touring around (seen him twice) with a band that does almost note-for-note renditions of the vinyl versions. It's amazing to see a live performance of these songs with their tortuously offbeat tempos. (pun intended) |
| idahoTux | Posted: Jan 25, 2012 - 11:14 Good stuff. Zappa could be played more often on RP. And btw, if you're a Zappa fan, get thee to a Zappa Plays Zappa performance. Dweezil's band is very, very good! |
| martinc (Ottawa Canada) | Posted: Jan 25, 2012 - 11:14 That magic year again, 1969. The wealth and variety of music that year has been unmatched. |

| hbs47 (SE England) | Posted: Aug 20, 2011 - 09:21 Love this tune but but not a huge FZ fan. Not sure why every thinks him such a genius, but then I don't get Robert Fripp, Miles Davies and many others either. Even at my age I can still take on board "new"(to me) stuff so there is always a chance the bulb will light. |

| window (Richmond, VA) | Posted: Aug 20, 2011 - 09:18 As awesome as this song is, I'm a tad resentful of it being played here considering I tried to upload it years ago and it was summarily rejected. Change of heart, Bill? |

She eventually gave it to me. Most polarizing? Don't judge only by the comments. The peak up near 9 in the ratings histogram is much bigger than the little molehill down near 1. |
| Cynaera (South of Neanderthal) | Posted: Jun 18, 2011 - 08:26 I remember reading an interview with Alice Cooper back in the 70's. He talked about meeting Frank Zappa, and said (paraphrased), "Zappa told me that the Mothers' songs were always incredibly complicated and difficult - and then he said, 'But Jesus, It'd take us a WEEK to learn one of your songs!' I was completely flattered." Zappa's music might be an acquired taste for some, but I guess it's like caviar or opera. Once you learn to appreciate all the facets of it, it becomes a passion, or a not-so-guilty pleasure. |
| Lakeview (Great White North) | Posted: Jun 18, 2011 - 08:22 Wow. What a rough morning at RP. Frank Zappa was brilliant but this is going a bit far. This is where my wife inevitably steps in and changes the channel. I can usually argue that the last "piece of crap" was just Bill being responsible to other tastes but, when it's continuous it gets really difficult to hold the station on RP. Do you have technology to allow you to monitor listener connections and when you lose listeners? If so, you may have noticed one less connection in the past few minutes from Canada. Sorry. |

| Dave_Mack (Five bus, Jive bus!) | Posted: Mar 15, 2011 - 16:54 My guess is there isn't another rock song (or possibly in any genre) that has three soprano sax parts. And it's good despite that! |
| applex | Posted: Mar 02, 2011 - 09:49 This song is absolutely a masterpiece! In fact it is my favorite song, period. And I have good taste, and a large & varied record/CD/tape collection. If you don't dig Peaches En Regalia, that's fine (to each his/her own you know), but it's too bad for you, because you're missing out! |

We used to listen to it in my friend's basement bedroom with all the lights off except a weird multi-colored one with a stained-glass lampshade that spun around. Yeah, we were stupid pre-teen kids, but back then, we were living the "dangerous life." |
