| DJ_BellsEye | Posted: Mar 07, 2013 - 12:54 OK, I'm on new ground with RP. This is my 2nd consecutive PSD. Never thought it would happen. I must be in a bad mood. What a schleppy version though. Real sleeper. And Bill- don't know if this is your sense of humor or just coincidence, but after PSD'ing 2 songs in a row, what comes on? The Beatles "We Can Work It Out" came on. You'd have to be a cretin to turn off The Beatles. |
| NeilBlanchard (Greater Boston area, Massachusetts) | Posted: May 23, 2010 - 18:50 I still like 'em, but they have excised all the up-tempo songs from their repertoire — probably because those were written by Annabelle Chvostek of the Firecracker album... Sincerely, Neil |

| GawgaBoy (State of Confusion) | Posted: Jan 17, 2010 - 11:17 I am SO EXCITED.... the Jennys come to Savannah on April 16.... and I have tickets in the second row. I had just discovered them, thanks to Bill and RP, a few days after they played there two years ago. This is WORSE than when I was a kid and waiting for Christmas to get here. Come on April.... hurry up! This song, BTW, is on the "Live at Mauch Chunk Opera House" album. |

SO sorry to hear about your MIL. I know 2 people who pancreatic cancer has taken. It's a TERRIBLE thing to watch. I hope for her a quick and pain free release. |

| big_gare (Cloverdale, BeeCee, Canada) | Posted: Apr 08, 2009 - 09:34 One of my best friends has a 3 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a potentially fatal form of cancer. She's in treatment at Vancouver's Children's Hospital. She's a wonderful little girl who is too young to have to deal with something like this. Anyway, this song as performed by the Jennys, is my prayer to her. Whatever angels are in the vicinity - please help little Emily to deal with her cancer and help her find the path to a speedy and complete recovery. Everyone else who reads this is welcome to pray for Emily as well. Go to www.CaringBridge.org. emilyfoster ladybugs Thanks to all! :-) |

Personally, having heard both, I think they are both beautiful. |

| dc_zee | Posted: Mar 05, 2009 - 17:19 While I appreciate the Wailin' Jennys and don't blame them one iota for knowing what's worth singing, this can't top the Siberry/KD Lang version. I'm not usually such a mush, but I can rarely stay dry-eyed through the original...the voices build such tragic, beautiful rapture parallel to the lyrics. vaiodon wrote: Had to come back to this today after hearing it last night and downloading from the Jennys' site. I couldn't find a full play of the Siberry/Lang original but what I heard didn't impress me like the Jennys and I'll look forward to the Until the End of the World movie popping through the letterbox soon. |
| HarrO (Just Down the Hill from Paradise) | Posted: Mar 05, 2009 - 17:16 Love the Jennys. Seen them a few times. This tune is really kind of slow for their normal stuff. Pretty, but lacks the power of a lot of their music. |
