Maybe it's the tequila talking, but I wish there was an 11 I could give this song right now.  I challenge the RP community to name a better love song from the new millennium.

RP is great.  I can't say I like Elbow though.  Dreary songs and a singer with a mouth full of mashed potato.

Elbow = Amazing. Check out their live BBC performance. Words don't do justice.

Well said and a good thought. I have to hope those coming up behind us have a chance to experience the kind of cooperative world Bill and Becca have created and know how to manage thier participation in it. Go Youth! Be amazing.

After hearing a few tracks from this album on RP, I went out and bought it. It's probably the most heavily played album on my playlist for the last couple years.

I'm surprised by the significant divide between comments on here. I'm a huge fan of Elbow's work. Huge.

So the whole cd has been played here over the course of several years. There's your free preview. Did you like the songs? Want to listen to them whenever you choose?

Buy the album. Do it from Bob's links - he gets a little kickback!

I don't understand why half of the people who put comments are so overly-critical. Even if you don't particularly like the song, it's a million times better than listening to whatever gets played on mainstream pop stations.

In addition, I think Seldom Seen Kid is a fantastic album.

I just wonder if RP considers that if the whole CD is played here, Wouldn't it discourage people from purchasing the CD to the detriment of the band.  I think they do take this into consideration, but who knows.  I don't know any of the legalities or ethics surrounding the radio business.

Nothing forced about Guy Garvey - a more down to earth bloke I struggle to think of given the success he and his band mates have enjoyed.  Great lyrics, great music and timeless to boot.

Yet another magical band to come out of Manchester - it must be the rain.

Nope. I started off rating most Elbow songs a 5/6 and now, years later they're almost all on 1/2. I just cannot stand his voice any more - I understand the comparisons with Peter Gabriel but Mr Elbow seems to have far less variation in his singing style. I don't know if it's the sincerity (which sounds forced somehow) or the fact he always sounds melancholic but I now have to PSD for every Elbow song. I suppose I should really be happy that there's only one band I have to do that for!

Hard to consider this overplayed, since it's on heavy rotation in my personal collection as well. I love this whole album. But I really didn't want to hear it today. It reminds me too much of the love interest I'm having to get over right now.
