All the love you stole
All the love you sought
Exposing you
I am torn
Dark spell, I crave you so
I wanna live, but you just won't let me go
We laid there in starlight
Woke-up in the storm
Am I yours?
I'm not sure
Dark spell, you cast me so
I wanna live, but you just won't leave me alone
And the wheel keeps turning
I can't get enough
And the flame keeps burning
And I surrender love
They say the eyes are like
Windows to the soul
I ain't so sure
I see through yours
My borders are broken raw
I just can't protect, can't protect them no more
And the wheel keeps turning
I can't get enough
And the flame keeps burning
And I surrender love
Turn your back on another world
Promise yourself "never again"
The wheel keeps turning
But I can't get enough
And the sun keeps burning
And I surrender love

| gypsyman (just passing through....) | Posted: Mar 20, 2013 - 16:11 I really like this. Don't even know why. Perhaps the primal bass. |

| TerryS (Another SW) | Posted: Dec 13, 2012 - 16:45 Normally like th BBC, but: Little gaspy intakes of breath and reptitious "like this, like this, like this" are not enough for me. |

| SugarPig (Wild West Texas) | Posted: Dec 03, 2011 - 07:20 I can't figure out what they're singing in the chorus, so I'll just assume they meant "I'm a maaaaaan, yes I aaaaaaam and I can't help but love you so" |
| olivertwist (Atlanta GA) | Posted: Nov 01, 2011 - 16:24 The opening notes had me thinking this was a cover of Blondie's "Rapture." Edit: I see others have noticed the similarity as well. Such smart listeners ![]() |

| misterbearbaby (Marina del Rey, California) | Posted: Aug 30, 2011 - 13:13 Somebody nailed it before- it's Blondie "Rapture"- the intro lick is note-for-note... Still, decent. |
| Krispian (Sydney, Australia) | Posted: Apr 26, 2011 - 12:57 I loves The Doves when they write catchy pop songs |

Just logged on to make the same comment - doh! Oddly enough, I sprained my "sacroiliac" last month ( it still hurts) and I knew that some old song had that word in the lyrics but I couldn't remember it. Hearing this track by the Doves made me think of that Blondie tune and, voila, these lyrics; "Back to back Sacroiliac Spineless movement And a wild attack" Serendipitous. |

After shooting several games of pool while songs from this release were playing in the background, I thought to myself...the drums and bass really have a distinctly DISCO feel here. Great bass tone as per usual with Doves! Doves are just plain fantastic IMHO. A big thanks to Bill & RP for introducing me to their work. 9/10 I couldn't agree with you more, Tim! I too hadn't been exposed to them prior to RP. good stuff! |
