This is fun...period. Not meant to be a truly meaningful song. The teenage angst and all that comes with it. This humping beat song nails it!

Ah, love it! From back in the Day. What a great (dare I say iconic?) riff. And a great post-solo break. But, you know, haters gonna hate.

I agree totally except an essential word you missed: IRRITATING.

This is one of my most hated irritating songs (even more so than Purple Rain)

70s were mostly a golden age for music -this is just apalling.

This is one of those songs I have a hard time rating... the song deserves an 8, but I don't want it played that often so I at least knock it down to a 7, if not a 6.  Hey Bill, how about a two variable rating system?

Actually saw this band live when they toured with the album. It was an energetic show and a lot of fun. Isn't that what music is all about?

Such a tasty snack I always eat too much, then throw up
But I'll soon be back for my, my, my, yi, yi, woo
M-m-m-my bologna

Spreadin' on the mustard now, show me how
Spread it on a litle of this bologna
Hopin' that we don't run out, don't run out
If we do I'm sure that I'll miss bologna

Filling up my basket with Oscar Meyer

You were probably thinking of the Paul Collins Beat who had a similar sounding band at the time and a similarly minimalistic hit song entitled "I wanna be with a rock-n-roll girl".

I like this song. I don't know why, but ... Why not? I like letting go of wanting more sometimes. I guess I don't need virtuosity or wisdom all of the time. Just something that digs in and makes me feel a little happier than before the song began.

My feelings exactly. It's a staple of 1979. The number one billboard song for the year of 1979...which means it spent the most weeks at top spot #1. It's a great pop song and the documentary about the Knack is amazingly good. Check it out. RIP Doug Fieger.
