Thank you George where-ever you are. The concert with Clapton and Prince "jamming" this song  was out of this world and
Prince didn't play 2nd fiddle to Eric. I still think Clapton is a huge schmuck for just moving in and taking Georges
wife .. GH and EC were best of friends,, so I guess George was a poor judge of character in both EC and his EX.
I'm not nearly as forgiving as I would have had "Louie" break every finger on EC's hands.....with a sledge hammer.

Why, was it your woman? Get a grip SOB. It happens, and this is not amazing reportage. Your passive/aggressive rant is counter productive.

Well, if you watch the most wonderful "George Harrison: Living in the Material World" documentary, you sort of learn that really wasn't the case (the mutual understanding part). Clapton really does not come across well in that doc either. As my girlfriend put it, "that's the most I've ever heard him talk and I can't say I like him any more for it."

I fear your girlfriend may be right. And as far as the mutual understanding conundrum, I think back to the description of George walking away leaving his wife with HIM. Superb and moving documentary.

Time to go through the entire internet and remove every other use of the phrase "worthy tribute" as this eclipses them all and makes the phrase redundant ever after.

Didn't George lose his wife to Clapton?  I wonder about his feelings here.  FWIW,  I always thought George was the coolest of them all.  Not sure if was because of the look in his eyes or simply his tragedy.

Having watched the DVD many times, I can tell you it's Clapton on lead guitar "weeping" if you will, Mann is back there working hard, but not the lead.  The backup vocalists are numerous, but Jeff Lynne and Paul McCartney are the main ones according to my eyes and ears.  I love this DVD.

I'm pretty sure Clapton is playing the exact same part in this recording as he played on the White Album version - the lead.

**Edit

My mistake, according to Wikipedia:

On 29 November 2002, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Dhani Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Eric Clapton performed "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the Concert for George in memory of Harrison, who died a year earlier after a long battle with cancer. This version featured Eric Clapton with Marc Mann playing Clapton's original solo and also a second, as well as Paul McCartney on the piano.
Frankly, I have my doubts that's Marc Mann is playing the solo on this version, and not Clapton. Other articles on that concert say Mann played Harrison's parts, which would make more sense.

I think Clapton played the lead parts on both this version and the White Album. If someone has the DVD of this performance they may be able to shed more light on this.
