That alone makes me give this song a 10.

You've all got it wrong. OSI can only refer to the Office of Scientific Intelligence, the branch of the CIA that agent Jaime Sommers and Dr. Rudy Wells worked for in The Bionic Woman. {#Cool}

Wow, there's some significant bass happening in this tune.  Glad I'm enjoying RP utilizing my Bose 901's today and not my laptop speakers, or even worse my blackberry!
Cranked!

Props to Bill and Rebecca for making decisions which allow stellar delivery of high-quality tunes!

Me too.  If I like Richard Barbieri's solo, more ambient-sounding material, will I like Japan?

per wiki:

OSI is an American progressive experimental supergroup formed by Fates Warning guitarist Jim Matheos in 2003. The name refers to the short-lived US government agency Office of Strategic Influence which was established shortly after 9/11 to manufacture and promote pro-US propaganda in domestic and foreign media.

The O.S.I. model (O.S.I. - Open System Interconnection) is a way of sub-dividing a System into smaller parts (called layers) from the point of view of communications.   Source:  wiki page just w OSI

Basically, a Chroma Key song.  The more aggressive stuff on the record is quality, but if you like this, check out the CK CDs "You Go Now" and "Dead Air for Radios"

When it started I thought it was a mellow version of Dandy Warhols' Bohemian Like You... I like it, but a little sleepy for right after lunch so I'll reserve rating for the next listen.

Hey Relayer,  Thanks for the effort.  And thanks to the music deities that Bill seems capable of changing his mind. And thanks for the suggestion, 'cause PT fan I am.

In passing, I hear some sonic space similarity to Led Zeppelin's No quarter but otherwise the songs are so different, I don't get the comparison.

This song is growing.

Utterly different from every other track on the album. I would never have found this were it not for RP, as this band's usual music is not stuff I'd listen to. Thanks B&R!

...yes, OSI is primarly a collaboration between jim matheos and kevin moore, the latter of whom is chroma key...

...incidentally, this is probably the weakest track on the album, which is outstanding on the whole, the last two tracks of which especially flow with awesome tension...

Are you sure blotto?  Seems like folks are hearing No Quarter all over the place these days.

Some of this reminds me a little of Richard Barbieri's solo material or Massive Attack.

First I've hear of this group. I'm a big fan of PT, so hopefully we hear more of this if there is a similarity.
I've been going through the sampler on Amazon and you really do hear the keyboards from No Quarter in the 20 or so seconds of this song.

O.S.I. is amazing - I think much of it is a bit heavy for RP, but as you said, anyone who is a PT fan (or Dream Theater or Fates Warning, former members of which make up O.S.I.) should definitely check them out.

Thanks anyway for the upload...great song, I bought it straight after my first listen {#Notworthy}

Nice thing... is that it really sounds nothing like No Quarter.

There is the same effect on the keyboards, but that's about it.  Nothing else remotely resembles No Quarter.
Still... as the rest of you heard, the first thing I heard was No Quarter as well.
I think... more than a commentary on anything else... it says something about the uniqueness of John Paul Jones keyboard part.
