This is probably the best metric song in a excellent catalog.  The vocals are so intense, the lyrics are perfectly enigmatic but with overtones that are intimate and familiar.  I love it.

Oh, I have to respond. that was my favorite School House Rock segment, even before  "3 is a Magic Number" and "Conjunction Junction"
(I was a little girl after all and  "Figure 8" had ice skating in it) but I loved every one of the early Math and English School House Rocks even the really funky Black Power ones like "I Got 6."

This album is a little more polished than their previous releases, but they are certainly building a strong catalog. If they come to your town go see them. They are a great live band.

Something about this song just reminded me of that old School House Rock song "Figure 8" (which is a good thing — nostalgic and all).  And "Figure 8" was sung by Blossum Dearie who was known for her distinctive girlish voice — so this style of singing is not a new thing.

Preferably suffixed by application of warm tongue in self same ear?  Definitely works for me.

On a more appropriate note, what a good picture of her that is - you can see the passion for the song in her face.
