Perfect song for today.  Unseasonably cold here in DC.   Just sitting inside waiting for this horrible cold winter to end.  Depressed.

In these days of worldwide violence and mayhem this to me is a welcome relaxing tune sung with such a gentle approach,  I haven't listened to the lyrics yet as I treat his voice as another instrument which blends beautifully with the acoustic guitar... more like it RP please.

hey, this is quite a nice alternative to Nick Drake (played earlier) - without listening to the lyrics, just the general vibe of the song...

Was gonna say this tune and performance are dry and somewhat dull...but after reading your comment...I somehow feel compelled to feel a bit differently now since you've shared such a tragic association with this tune. I feel your pain and know the feeling. Hope you allow time to heal some hard wounds.

It's a lovely song but quite wistful, almost melancholy. Maybe not a good lonely rainy day I just broke up with the girlfriend interlude. But it's wonderful how one guitar, one voice and evocative lyrics can do so much.

I thought this song was decent, but I really like his song "All My Days." It's really quite wonderful.

His music also sounds great in the movie "Away We Go."

Wow, been awhile since I wrote that.  At the time I was not aware it was YOU, the chatty Cynaera, whose posts since that time I have come quite familiar with.  I was a bit harsh, guilty as charged.  It's all good.  Sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way.   I really do take exception to many of your posts though, so I guess were even.  Keep posting, we need people who speak up and keep it interesting here.   I won't hold back though, until they kick me off.  And I don't think I have ever been mean.

Erm - turns out we're both correct. The Septuagint was the translation of the first 39 books of the Bible (the Old Testament) from the original Hebrew and Aramaic languages INTO Greek.

And....... "CHATTY"?   I'm sorry. I keep trying to limit myself to one or two words in the comments, but I'm a writer, so the words just burst out of me. {#Redface}

Feel free to bury your nose up Excelsior's posterior, if it makes you feel better. I notice that you're reading the Septuagint in Hebrew.  Well, DUH - it was WRITTEN in Hebrew (no vowels - I bet that's quite the challenge.)  Did you happen to notice that "Cynaera" was a righteous woman mentioned in the ORIGINAL Septuagint, and because of Constantine, her name was taken out of the scriptures as "spurious text"?  Eh. I thought not.

My thoughts might be "drivel" to you, and that's okay. PUTATIVE?  Well, isn't that a lot of what gets posted here? Impressions, thoughts, feelings, unsubstantiated concepts? If that offends you, too bad. And my opinion stands - I like Alexi Murdoch's music.
