Watching the coast
Suddenly I know
What I want the most
And I want to tell you
Still I hold back
I need some time
Get my life on track
I know that look on your face
But there's somethin' lucky about this place
And there's somethin' good comin'
For you and me
Somethin' good comin'
There has to be
And I'm thinking 'bout mama
And about the kids
And the way we lived
And the things we did
How she never had a chance
Never caught a break
And how we pay for our big mistakes

I know so well the look on your face
And there's somethin' lucky about this place
There's somethin' good comin'
Just over the hill
Somethin' good comin'
I know it will
And I'm in for the long run
Wherever it goes
Ridin' the river
Wherever it goes
And I'm an honest man
Work's all I know
You take that away
Don't know where to go
And I know that look that's on your face
There's somethin' lucky about this place
There's somethin' good comin'
For you and me
Somethin' good comin'
There has to be

| Keef (Confluence of the American River) | Posted: Apr 12, 2013 - 09:59 Yes, Tom is working on a new album according to Rolling Stone Mag . Looking forward to it. Petty describes the new album, not yet titled, "as kind of like Mojo – to a new power. It's not as strict to the blues as that one is. But everything comes from the blues, and we've found something new – a new way to stamp the blues." The album is also "born the same way as Mojo," he goes on, "where we perform everything together, with very little futzing around with it after it's done. But more than anything else, it's about the songs. Writing a song is such a gift from God. You have to be patient and attentive, and I gotta stay at it a lot. But things turn up, and when they do, it's exciting and makes you want to go back and try it again." So far, Petty and the Heartbreakers have cut a dozen songs for the new record. "And of those, I hear six that I'm sure about," he says with obvious delight. "There may be more, but I'm definitely sure of those." He laughs again. "If I'm sure about one, that's exciting." |

It was this album, rdo, that turned my thoughts around on TP. I truly enjoy this album and song - I ended up buying it; the only TP album I own. |

TP is more than a one-song-style wonder. This song supports the point. How is this anything like "American Girl"? Or "Free Falling"? It's not. But if you're tone deaf it may be hard to tell the difference. |
