You're not alone
I'm with you
I'm lonely too
What's that song
Can't be sung
By two?
A broken home
A broken heart
Isolated and afraid
Open up, this is a raid
I want to get it through to you
You're not alone
You're not alone
Every night
I stand in your place
Every tear
On every face
Tastes the same
A broken dream
A broken heart
Isolated and afraid
Open up, this is a raid
I'm gonna get it through to you
You're not alone
An open hand
An open heart
There's no need to be afraid
Open up, this is a raid
I want to get it through to you
You're not alone
I want to get it through to you
You're not alone
I'm gonna get it through to you
You're not alone
I'm with you
I'm lonely too

Kinda reminds me of the climax scene in The Dark Knight, where an apprehended and upside-down Joker (Heath Ledger) lectures Batman on the essential relationship between good and bad.... I think the string on this board revolves around one great big red herring. To a very large, perverse, degree, the most vocal and vitriolic damnation that is ever applied to music played here is to any music that could in any way be considered "popular" or "corporate". The hostility is downright disturbing; and I am sure it frightens away a lot potential new members who, if they stuck around and listened, would be exposed to a much wider variety of music than they already are. Music like Jazz, Blues, and many other sacrosanct, immune-from-criticism-because-if-you-criticize-it-you-are-a-deemed-a-racist, genres are hardly criticized at all here. Nothing should be immune from criticism. Nothing is ever "legitimate". Nothing is safe. If you do not have a critical eye towards everything, then I'd rather not hear from you at all. |

Sending hugs to you - sorry things are not allowing you a "happy-place" to rest and heal! And that pic of Mavis - she positively glows with life. I love this song, because it reminds me that I truly am not alone. I'm glad it helped you. I wish that saying "hang in there" would be enough, but somehow, hugs work better. |

| jerrieberrie (Omaha) | Posted: May 27, 2011 - 10:12 Yes, important comments from both listeners. There is a lot of thought into the songs played on RP and the variety of music here. That's what we love. The experience one gets from exposure to new music you might not have the opportunity to hear if you stay only on safe ground,ie: music/sounds you already know you like, is what is great about RP. It is truly unfortunate that some folks need to ask for certain songs not to be played and assume that only the music they want deserves airplay. Life is varied and beautiful and BIG. There's really not one RIGHT way. We must co-exist and should learn to appreciate other points of view rather than trying to force everyone into "same" thinking. Dare I say that none of the world's progress or great inventions or advances in science and technology would ever have come about if different ideas, new thoughts, or other alternatives had not been allowed. I appreciate and enjoy RP. If you don't like the song, turn it down until something else comes on or change the channel. People have choice. Viva la difference! Calypsus wrote:Toke wrote : |

Well said calypsus, as you say a lot of thought has gone into the menu of this Radio Programme and I for one appreciate and listen with an open ear and especially artists I have never heard before, RP is responsible for widening my knowledge of music and to others that I recommend via the artists sites or AMG. And as you say, the moaners seem to have a limited/blinkered ear. My appreciation and thanks go to the Hosts and compilers of an excellent RP. |
