I found this very touching.  I was unaware of all the other versions.

Beautiful words and music from Mr Robert Allen Zimmerman.  I love Adele's voice and think she has done justice to a great song.  She is a songwriter too you know and has written some belters.  Bryan Ferry's version of this is well worth a listen.  It has been covered by many artists because they want to pay homage to such a great piece of music.{#Notworthy}{#Sunny}

So, you're the guy who reads that magazine.  I don't think I've read more than an article or two from any issue of Rolling Stone since the 1980s.

I have been writing and performing for years... and it is my opinion that such an immense talent as Adele is quite rare. And she has on-stage charisma too. Really, I would say maybe once in a generation you run across somebody like her. Whitney Houston was the same way. Most performers are more like fashion trends; they come and go so quickly. God willing, Adele's style will last... she seems timeless to me.

Come on, doesn't everyone know you can never say anything negative about dylan, the beatles, or joplin here. They are the sacred cows that can't be touched. They were perfect.

Let's face the music.   She has attained stratospheric levels in the industry.   Sure, we would have liked to see see Mumford and  whoever sweep the Grammy's but it was her turn (again).   Would you rather listen to Whitney Houston?

Is it okay to start hating her? Maybe it's overexposure. Maybe I'm just jealous of her talent (and her youth?). But I'm sick of her voice. Thanks in advance for telling me what an idiot I am.

I'm not sure what it is about Edele but I just don't like the voice at all. It could be her inflections, lack of passion, sameness of sound, raspiness, or all the above. Whatever it is it causes a bit of a cringe down in my soul.

Above taken from the wiki article, interestingly enough Billy Joel's cover, was released 2 months before Dylan's.

This rates a big whatever. She has a choice to make, work with interesting songwriters, producers, and musicians or go the route of the Josh Grobin's and Michael Buble's of the world. I hope she chooses the former.

I think it's got less to do with music and more to do with the emotions (or lack thereof) being conveyed.

I saw her perform in Paradiso in Amsterdam last april, and I can asure you she has a very powerful voice. She sings with great ease whether it's the slower intimate songs or the more powerful ones. She left the audience begging for more.
She is very funny too by the way.{#Dancingbanana_2}

Adele has a very pretty voice, but lyrics like this mean so much more when it sounds like the performer has lived through lots of those "wild-blowing winds of change."

And considering Adele was 19 at the time she recorded the album, she should get added credit.  Now at the ripe old age of 21, she's put out another excellent album.

After years of exposure to Bob Dylan at home, my daughter played this yesterday as something that had been recommended by a friend. She thinks he can't sing (after seeing the Grammy performance, who can dispute this?), but now she has an appreciation for his song writing. Adele has a refreshingly good voice, especially refreshing after hearing far too much of the poppy singers that are so popular today.
