Sitting on a porch, hot summer night, listening to a storm roll in, breeze is waving the hem of my skirt, kissing my damp skin in the heat of the evening. mm, mm, mm

Sometimes a song just rubs you the wrong way. I love WJ's sound. I'd listen to 'em reading the damned phone book (does anyone use those things anymore)?

There is a stripped down acoustic version of this song that is so simple and yet pretty amazing.

Been hearing a storm coming for a while. It got here pretty much when this song started.  Makes a great song even better!

Perhaps it is because Ruth Moody used to be in the Duhks and is one of the founding members of the Jennys?

In fact, Ruth Moody (one of the Wailin' Jennys) used to be in The Duhks.  Now, the original Duhks fiddle player backs up the Jennys.

Love her voice, she's got soul. I hear some of both Allison Krause and Emmylou in there, interesting that the previous poster thought this was a piece they were both in.

For once I disagree with the majority here.

I find the group rather appropriately named. Wailing. Tedious. Writing 8 bars of music and repeating them with the exact same vocal harmonies for an eternity. RP plays two tracks from this album, and both of them would be dangerous for me to listen to while driving.
