![]() Circuital (2011) [ larger cover art ] |
Spinning out, gracefully
Going nowhere, quickly
I'm older, day by day
But still going back to my childhood way
Circuital
Round and round patiently
Getting lost by the guide
And I'm all worked up over nothing
Circuits
All in and out
Connect my body
Deep into the ground
Circuits
Connect the earth to the moon
And link our heavenly bodies
And not a moment too soon
Well you can fling open the windows
Or you can board them up
Satan's jeweled crown
Or Christ's humble cup
You think you'll find yourself out there
Out in the lion's den
In some bloody battle
Over belief systems
Or disappear into the vacuum
Total neutrality
Where you can't lose nothing
But nothing can be gained
Well anyway you cut it
We're just spinning around
Out on the circuits
Over the hallowed grounds
Out on the circuits
Over the hallowed grounds
Ending up in the same place
That we started out
Right back in the same place
Right back in the same place
That we starting out
Let her know

| kingart (Brooklyn NY) | Posted: May 20, 2012 - 09:21 Good musical energy — but I can rarely comprehend a damn thing he's singing. What's the deal with that? Enunciation? Poor mixing? Mumbling? Is that the best MMJ can do? |

There should not be a stress-shift from the first to the second syllable due to the suffix "al", causing the dipthong oo-eh. There should never be a dipthong in the middle of a word, unless preceded by a fricative (see Jones, et al), hence CIR-cut-əl is the correct pronunciation. I think we could go round and around arguing this. |

Dude, ( Yes, DUDE!) stop trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. It's the pitch that is FF-like, not the reverb. When your head explodes, that will have been too much reverb. Until then, it is just right! |
| jhorton | Posted: Dec 29, 2011 - 15:07 Honestly, this outfit just keeps getting better and better! |

Never saw them "live" but did catch them on the telly doing a small intimate set...unfortunately, I didnt think that it came off that well, especially the vocals. |

| Groogrux69 (Auburn, CA) | Posted: Oct 11, 2011 - 09:54 As mentioned to Rolling Stone magazine by James, the album cover depicting the Magic eye tube was inspired by his own experience of getting Lasik eye surgery, saying: "The whole experience of it is so fucked up, it's somebody slicing your eyeball open and shooting you with a laser." It also inspired James to write the song "Victory Dance." |

If something is "of a circuit" (i.e., electrical), it would be caller "circuital", which could be pronounced "sir-kit-ul". You may also be equating "circuital" with the word: "circuitious". This is just a personal, style preference, but if I were going to "nit-pick" about grammar and/or English usage, I would use the appropriate application of uppercase and lowercase letters when doing so, but that doesn't seem to matter much anymore. Good song, by the way. Happy listening! I noticed the same thing. Listen carefully next time it plays. I heard them sing "sir-cue-it-ull". |
