I'd second that, and I consider myself to be quite a PT fan. Going by the solo work played on RP, it's nice enough and certainly interesting, lyrically, but it's relatively thin fare compared to the chunkier sound. He is a cracking songwriter but needs that bit of oomph and variation behind him, I think.

Not up to what you would expect from Steven Wilson. He's stretching himself too thin with PT, Blackfield and his own solo stuff. This track is ok and Index is ok, the rest is mediocre at best. SW (& PT) have been on a downward slide since Fear of a Blank Planet (with the sole exception of Insergentes). I doubt we'll ever see something as good as In Absentia or Deadwing ever again.

Deform to Form a Star, The Dust I have Cleared From My Eyes, Remainder The Black Dog just for starters are all amazing songs.... This album is great and the live show was unreal.  Hardly mediocre...

This album is just awesome, and I was lucky enough to see his Orlando show last week.  Amazing show (to no one's surprise).

As for as the comments that Steve Wilson's music has suffered some lately; I disagree.  PT's music gets better and better with each release - although The Incident should have just been a single album, not double album, a few songs could have been cut for a separate EP.  His solo work is great all around.

BUT, I will admit, the last Blackfield album was pretty darn weak.  I think the Blackfield project is now moreso just Avi's songs, and I always thought the only weak songs on the 1st 2 Blackfield albums were Avi's junk.  And I've never been a big fan of the No Man project.

Dear Steve - drop the Blackfield project, get back in the studio with the PT guys, and give us something wonderful.

From what I have heard this album is only OK. As pointed out earlier , maybe he has too many irons in the fire.
A couple of people I know have just seen him in concert and have raved  about it.
Maybe a grower, I'll probably end up buying it.
