The females tend to be more successful as solo vocalists.  There are a few good female bands, but rock music is overwhelmingly a male dominated genre.  Boys play better together than do girls.

Bill's been chided for pushing so many female vocalists at us but I have to agree that the ladies really do seem to turn out much good music—very lyrical, interesting chord changes, rhythms, and wonderful singing. My Radio Paradise Favorites playlist is heavy with such as Sophie Zelmani, Feist, Kate Bush, and many others that I'd have not "discovered" were it not for RP!

How great! I'm sitting on my balcony with a Dr. B, enjoying another day in Aruba by the sea, deciding to check in on RP and this comes on, which is one of my favorites of late. As nice as this is, can't wait to get home to my real hi-fi and hear this and all of RP as it should sound instead of on an iPad (too lazy to connect my portable speakers). Need to get going now as dinner reservations await. (We're trying a new-ish restaurant in a couple's home, Anna-Maria's Autentico Ristorante Italiano, that's little known but supposedly wonderful, which we'll soon find out.)

Edit: Anna-Maria's was great! We'll return, I'm sure.

Quite. This should answer critics of herself on here who say that she's only got one volume level. This is a quiet and thoughtful piece and a nice departure from her usual big sound, though that's pretty damn good too.
