I promote RP to my friends whenever I have the chance, but I will put a mental block on it for when I want to recommend it to my wife. If she hears Sivert Høyem she might get a crush on him... I am a straight man, but I am impressed (and secretly jealous) on his voice.

Had the sound on low in the background at the office.  Heard this song start, realized it was Sivert, and immediately had to put on the headphones and turn it up.  This guy's voice (and lyrics) is/are so emotive, haunting.  Love it.

There seems to be a few different currents running through the treads to Hoyem's music. On the one hand listeners are in love with his voice, others are unimpressed with the quality of the songwriting , and a third group (not altogether different than the previous group) thinks his music has run it's course on RP.

If indeed each of these camps is partially correct might it be possible to reduce his exposure by 1/3? I think that would be a fair and equitable solution.

Sorry to differ. I think his voice is so beautiful and the songs showcase it. So I hope that RP keeps on playing him.

You may well conclude that my distaste is a consequence of "passive listening". Not so, I'm afraid. I could likely sing you back most of the melody and a fair bit of the harmonies from memory. And I still find it boring.
