An interesting (to me, anyway) movie about Ian Curtis. I thought it was very well done.

Great movie, but this band is totally overrated I think. Or can someone explain to me what is so brilliant about this monotonous sound, except for maybe the attitude that it radiates?

I was just thinking about this song yesterday, along with the song 'Blue Monday'. I was thinking about the transition of Joy Division (with Ian Curtis) to New Order (the new wave dance group). I've not heard Transmission in years. Still very interesting material. As always, a great writeup of New Order on Wikipedia for those of you wanting to know more about the history of the band.

Every single Joy Division introduction causes an emotional, visceral reaction. Great stuff.

It's always great to ignore popularity for a moment to hear a band's early experimentations with their sound. I don't know how privy the RP audience is to Joy Division: the remaining members later became New Order after Joy Division's lead singer, Ian Curtis, committed suicide on the eve before their first American tour. They were a great band. Still love hearing their earlier work with Ian.
