![]() Blunderbuss (2012) [ larger cover art ] |
The sun and the moon never change
They just rearrange
The night and the new day
Gold exchanges for silver
And the light on a river
Gets carried away
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
I lift up my head and I wonder
Just who it is calling
Calling my name now
I trip on my way and I blunder
My head falling under
A blanket of shame
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
High and low may I go
But God only knows
Just where I am going
High and low may I go
But God only knows
Just where I am going
The people around me won't let me
Become what I need to
They want me the same
I look at myself and I want to
Just cover my eyes and
Give myself a new name
The stones in the sky never worry
They don't have to hurry
They move in their own way
But I have to choose what to do
How to act, what to think
How to talk, what to say
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
On and on, on and on
| Kokoloco53 (Southeastern Arizona) | Posted: May 02, 2013 - 07:46 Being not familiar with Jack's music or the White Stripes, when I first heard this song today, my first reaction was that is was a song I had heard somewhere before, and I thought it was an old Grateful Dead tune I had heard years ago. Surprise. But it's good stuff. Don't understand why some people that comment seem negative. Good music is good music, even if it's not always my favorite. Peace and joy my brothers and sisters. |
| casey1024 (Here and Now) | Posted: Apr 05, 2013 - 11:57 I like Jack White. Whether or not I like a particular song, he/Raconteurs always make me stop and check who it is. Of course, that is IMHO. |

OK, Paps! I understand the words "shitty music" falls into your "no-class" category! Translation: Take it easy, Paps! |
| Stingray | Posted: Mar 07, 2013 - 14:41 Jack started out as a nice guy, meanwhile he turned into an arrogant red-carpet loving asshole! So disappointing! The song...? Boring and not worth discussing why it is! OVERRATED - the Jack White industry! |
| TerryS (Another SW) | Posted: Feb 23, 2013 - 20:30 I understand that although she shared her bonnet with him, Florence Nightingale had a deeper voice than our Jack. |

Does that count for a reason? Of course I hang around - simply because RP is the best radio-option, possibly the best music-option, "Thin Wonder Lizzy".
@ westslope OK, Paps - but tell me, what exactly you're complaining about, before you take your belt. What language is it - seriously!! - I have to watch out for? Is it the word "shit*y" (see how quick I am able to learn?) that you despise? For me "global-warming", "war-on-Iran", "investment-banksters", "embargo-on-Cuba" and "Pink Floyd" are bad words. Class...? Trust me - I'm full of it! |
