Only 10 rated song after 3 years listening to RP. I don't get tired of hearing it.

The version I downloaded from the iTunes store is more what you want, without the drumbeat.  It's also shorter, by 2-3 minutes.

I actually prefer this version, but I have no idea where to find it...

A pox be upon you, cscashby!  I will never be able to un-hear "Ovaltine" when I hear this song!  Though Ovaltine did add a certain malty goodness to milkshakes, didn't it?

I LIKE IT! She has a lovely voice; shades of Jesse Sykes' huskiness in some spots...but the guitar-work and delay is definitely unique.

Huh. I did not know about her. Great story of a "sung" hero of WWII — Wikipedia: Vera Lynn

And this song by Lera Lynn is a niner for me.

Fabulous.  Firm 9 from the Bristol office.

I often think I should listen to another radio station, just to get some variety, you know?  Or perhaps Spotify for a bit.

Then you blow me flat again with this superb material and I think "Nah, you're alright mate.  Stay where you are".

Thanks from the bottom of my heart Mr & Mrs G.

I rewached Season 2 - and it is actually not as bad as I initially thought. Except for the cheesy ending. But better than I thought. I think if there would not have been the oh so very large footsteps of season 1 to be filled, we all would have appreciated the show more.

So here is the thing: When the first trailer for True Detective Season 2 came out, it was with this song - and I immediately got hooked. So I searched my *bleep* off to find it and sure enough found the bootleg two days later, in the Curly Tony and Franz S. - Version (the one playing here). I thought I had found the holy grail of country music. I listend to that song for days.

And I uploaded it to Radio Paradise - where, to my horror, it got rejected. So imagine my surprise to listen to it here. I am glad that it did find its way to RP - and it also shows that Bill and Rebecca should listen more closely to my suggestions :-)

One last observation I made: This kind of music does not really need a new term - in my opinion it is a very clever mix of country music and deep house. Before you laugh - listen to it with that idea in mind. You'll see it's true.
Funny thing is: on the true detective show the song actually only plays in a guitar only version - this version was and is trailer only.
